Ken Rostad

Kenneth Leif Rostad (born September 7, 1941) is a former provincial politician from Alberta, Canada. He served as a member of the Legislative Assembly of Alberta from 1986 to 1997. During his time in office he served numerous cabinet portfolios in the Alberta provincial government. He was born in Yorkton, Saskatchewan.〔()〕
==Political career==
Rostad was elected to the Alberta Legislature in the 1986 Alberta general election. He won the Camrose electoral district with a large plurality defeating four other candidates including Western Canada Concept leader Jack Ramsay.〔(【引用サイトリンク】title=Camrose election results 1986 )〕 He was appointed to the Cabinet by Premier Don Getty to serve as Solicitor General and served that post until September 8, 1988. He was then moved to serve his first stint as Attorney General.
Rostad ran for re-election in the 1989 Alberta general election. He was re-elected defeating two other candidates by a large margin.〔(【引用サイトリンク】title=Camrose election results 1989 )
When Ralph Klein became Premier, he lost his portfolio to St. Albert MLA Dick Fowler on December 14, 1992. In 1993 the Camrose electoral district was abolished due to redistribution. Rostad ran for re-election in the new Wetaskiwin-Camrose electoral district was re-elected in the 1993 Alberta general election winning by a comfortable margin defeating three other candidates.〔(【引用サイトリンク】title=Wetaskiwin-Camrose election results 1993 )
After the election Klein reappointed Rostad as Attorney general after Fowler was defeated. He served that post until September 15, 1994 when he was appointed Minister of Federal and Intergovernmental Affairs. He served that until he retired at dissolution of the Alberta Legislature in 1997.
